The Queen's (Royal West Surrey) Regiment 21st May 1916

21st May 1916 –

1st Battalion – Church parade in morning. C.O. & company carried out tactical scheme at Choques.
2nd Battalion – Things are fairly quiet in the trenches.
C.Q.M.S. Gillies promoted to 2/Lieut.
Officers 35.    Other Ranks 866.
1 Attached C.Q.M.S. Gillies prom to 2/Lt.
2/Lt Greig struck off strength but attached.
2/4th Battalion
1/5th Battalion -
1/6th Battalion – The Battalion attended Brigade Church Parade.
7th Battalion – 2/Lts R.C. Herbert – F.L. Gammon & four N.C.O’s proceeded to Bdge – Bombing School for a weeks course of instruction – Lt A.J.R. Haggard proceeded to CAMIERE for a course of instruction in Vickers Mx Gun. Lt D.R. Heaton proceeded on leave. Sentence suspended in the case of 1148 Pte G. Coles Authority G.O.C. 4th Army d/19/5/16.
8th Battalion
10th Battalion – Billets – Outterstien.
11th Battalion
