The Queen's (Royal West Surrey) Regiment 22nd May 1916

22nd May 1916–

1st Battalion – Battalion parade at Choques in morning. Ordinary routine.
2nd Battalion – A & D Coys relieve B & C in the two trenches. A draft of 2 officers & 57 other ranks have joined.
Officers 37.    Other Ranks 923.

Joined 2/Lts. Secretan & Haig with 57 other ranks.
2/4th Battalion –detachment for ABU GANDIR rejoined Battalion, being relieved by Yeomanry.
1/5th Battalion -
1/6th Battalion – The Battalion remained in billets & continued training.
7th Battalion – Major H.C. Jeddere Fisher proceeded to the 18th Div school as instructor – Captain & Adjutant M.Kemp Walsh took over temporary command of the Battalion Captain C.W.M. Price took over temporary appointment of 2nd in command of the Battalion – Captain H.L. Martin took over the command of “B” Coy Vice Captain C.W.M. Price.
8th Battalion
10th Battalion – Billets – Outterstien.
11th Battalion
