The Queen's (Royal West Surrey) Regiment 12th April 1916

12th April 1916–

1st Battalion – Ordinary Routine, working parties of 140 again in evening. Battalion had baths.
2nd BattalionBRAY TO TRENCHES.
Battalion relieves 22nd Manchesters in B.1. Subsection today. Three coys (A,B & D) in front line. C Coy in reserve at RAT-HOLE. Hd Qrs MINDEN POST.
Officers 35.    Other Ranks 904.
2/4th Battalion
1/5th Battalion – 5.30am Lieut A.E. Clark-Kennedy, 1 Sergt & 12 privates of C Coy composed a firing party to execute a Turkish officer named Hussein Effendi proved guilty of espionage.
1/6th Battalion – Battalion remained in billets & continued training.
7th Battalion
8th Battalion – 12th – 13th April

Bn remained in Divl Reserve – Training could not be proceeded with owing to wet weather.
