The Queen's (Royal West Surrey) Regiment 25th November 1915

25th November 1915 – 

1st Battalion – Ordinary Routine.
2nd Battalion – Officers 31.    Other Ranks 784.
Killed 2.
Wounded 2.
To Hospital 1.
From Hospital Nil.
Battn, furnished 2 working parties to work E of FESTUBERT. Each party 200 strong.
2/4th Battalion GALLIPPOLI.
1/5th Battalion – 13.40hrs Following telegram received from control "please be prepared to move first fifth West Surreys LUCKNOW, to BOMBAY at few hours notice". On receipt of above, all field service clothing was immediately served out, & officers tents equipment etc remaining at Arsenal till receipt of orders to move was wired for.
1/6th Battalion – Training continued.
7th Battalion – Battalion was relieved by 8 East Surrey Regt relief begun at 8.30am & completed at 11am B Company reinforced by A Company took over Tambour mining fatigue & were billeted in BECORDEL. Remainder of Battalion returned to billets at VILLE-SUR-ANCRE.
Casualties during tour of duty in the trenches:-

Died of wounds, 2.
Wounded 4 Includes 2 slightly, accidentally.
The weather during this tour was fine, enemy rather less active than usual. The health of the Battalion very good. Enemy aeroplanes dropped bombs near BUIRE.
8th Battalion – Battalion left STEENVOORDE at 9.45am and marched to OCHTEZEELE arriving at 2.30pm. Battalion in billets by 3pm.
