The Queen's (Royal West Surrey) Regiment 20th October 1915

20th October 1915 – 

1st Battalion – No parades possible as all the Battn, was employed in fatigue up at trenches etc.
2nd Battalion – Company Parades.
Officers 25.    Other Ranks 732.
To Hospital 5.
1/6th BattalionVERQUIN.
Rested in billets no parades – Equipment & clothing was inspected by O.C. Coys & the Bn, commenced to refit after almost 28 days of trench. Baths were arranged and almost the whole Battn, had baths in the CHATEAU VERQUIN.
2/4th Battalion – Capt. McNaught went to hospital.
During this period the Battalion was employed digging trenches on and around LALA BABA and garrisoning the trenches by night.
7th Battalion – Seven men of the Battalion attached 55 Brigade Mining Section were killed by explosion of a German mine East of TAMBOUR F 3 a.
8th Battalion – At RENINGHELST.
