10th July 1915 –
1st Battalion – The Secretary of State for War paid a visit to the 1st Army HQ on July 8th and a guard of Honor was found by the Detmt 1/Queens at AIRE under Lt W. Nickolas. 2 Lieut C.D.M. Fowler promoted Lieutenant d/12-4-15.
2nd Battalion – Officers 34. Other Ranks 970.
Increase 1 man from Hospital.
Coy, Parades.
1/6th Battalion
– Battalion relieved R.Sussex Regt in trenches. The Battalion left Billets at
4.am. Companies leaving in platoons at 200 paces interval. Guides met platoons
at MOTOR CAR CORNER & conducted them to the trenches – The relief was
complete by 8.am A-C, less 2 platoons & D Coys were in the fire trenches. B
Coy less 2 platoons of B Coy & 2 platoons of C Coy were in support trench.
The transport moved on to PONTCEAU.
Casualties – one other ranks wounded.
