20th February 1916 –
1st Battalion – Mine exploded on
left opposite 34 in A, by brickstacks.
Worcesters occupy crater – 1 wounded in action. Activity N
& South -
2nd Battalion – BRAY
TO TRENCHES.
The Battalion relieved the 1st South Staff, Regt,
in the trenches in C2 Sub-Sector. Relief commenced at 6.30pm & was
completed by 10.15pm. Quiet night.

The Bn, remained at
the BELGIUM CHATEAU. Large working parties were supplied for the 129th
Field Coy R.E. and 104th field Coy R.E. each night. The CHATEAU
dug-outs have been frequently shelled during the tour and A Coy of the 1st
N. Staffs billeted with us have lost 16 casualties, but the 8th
Queen’s suffered no casualties. “GAS ALERT” was adhered to the whole time.
