by our rifle fire. Quiet day.

TRENCHES TO BRAY.
Owing to heavy rain, the trenches are falling in rapidly
& every available man is employed to keep them in good repair. The
Battalion was relieved in the trenches by the 1st South Staffords
Regt, & proceeded to billets in BRAY.
2/4th
Battalion – Spent in pitching camp & getting up stores & baggage
from railhead.
1/6th Battalion
– Battalion cleaned up billets.
7th
Battalion – In Billets nothing to record.
8th
Battalion – 16th, 17th, 18th February. These were quiet days on the whole.
Our snipers gained superiority over the enemy snipers gradually, and “wore
down” their activity. Our front was shelled very slightly occasionally. H.Q.
during this tour was in R 7. As ZOUAVE WOOD had been shelled badly since we
were in the trenches previously.
