2nd January 1916 –
1st Battalion – Battalion paraded by Coys at 1.30pm and marched to Subsection A2 – 16th K.R.R. on right, 2nd Worcester’s on left. A mine was sprung just before we took over.
Casualties 5 wounded.
2nd Battalion – Church

Battalion - Some confusion was caused by the receipt of letter from
D.D.O. 8th (LUCKNOW) Division that he was to continue to keep our accounts.
1/6th Battalion
– Took over front line trenches from 6th Buffs “B” Coy went into
GUNNERS SIDING in support trench “A” Coy in the centre “C” Coy on the left
& “D” Coy on the right in the DUCKS BILL. The relief was completed at 6pm.
Trenches in very bad condition most of the night spent in pumping out water in
trenches & trying to improve them. Enemy shelled WINDY CORNER during
relief.
Casualties 3 Killed 3 Wounded.
7th
Battalion – Quiet day nothing to record.
8th
Battalion – Training was continued. ; A new draft of 24 O.R. arrived at
3pm.
