The Queen's (Royal West Surrey) Regiment 18th January1916

18th January 1916 – 

1st Battalion – Ordinary Routine.
2nd Battalion – Company Parades. - Wiring -  coy drill – night firing.
Officers 32.    Other Ranks 870.
2/4th Battalion
1/5th Battalion - A very bad thunderstorm in the early hours of the morning made everyone & everything very uncomfortable & during the day fatigue parties had to be out draining the camp.
1/6th Battalion – Front & Reserve Companies wired during the night, enemy quiet, except for bursts of machine gun fire. The Battalion was relieved by 1st Royal Berkshire Regt, the relief was completed at 7.15pm & the Battalion went into billets for the night at LE TOURET.
Casualties 2 Wounded.
7th Battalion – Quiet day nothing to record.
8th Battalion – B, C, D Coys – work on Defence Point.
