1st Battalion – Quiet except heavy shelling of BRADDELL POINT and main LA BASSEE ROAD.

Battalion - All heavy kit wore stored & kits weighed for the move
At 3pm orders were received from A.H.Q. thro' 12th DIV that the 2nd. West Kents
were transferred to 34th Bde & 1/5 Queens transferred to 12th Bde.
5.50pm Orders received to take over all the NASARIYEH garrison
duties of the 2nd West Kents. This meant leaving 57 NCOs & men in
NASARIYEH.
7.30pm. Orders received for Battn, to move to BUTANIYEH
following day. Advanced parties of cooks, cooking pots & tents on hired
camels to move at 11am with escort of 12th cavalry. Battn, lass advanced
parties to move at 1pm under orders of G.O.C. 34th Bde, with other units.
NASARIYEH LEFT BANK.
The column was ordered to move as under:-

– Coys did 2 hours training “A” Coy sent a party to clean up LAWE &
LAWEBRIDGE KEEPS ½ Platoon.
B Coy sent a party to clean up LES CHOQUAUX KEEP ½ Platoon.
C Coy sent a party to clean up LONG CORNET KEEP 1 Platoon.
D Coy sent a party to clean up Replica of GIVENCHY SECTION 1
Platoon.
Coys also bathed at ESSARS CANAL BATH.
7th
Battalion – In billets nothing to record.
8th
Battalion – The Grenade Coy under Lt Lane-Nicolls relieved the bombing
posts of the 8th R.W. Kent Regt, in the right section of trenches of
the RIGHT HOOGE Sector. Six posts were taken over, and 3 Grenade Stores.
