12th November 1915 –
1st Battalion – very wet and trenches kept sliding in very badly. Whole Battn, working all day and throughout night. Enemy shelled Battn, H Qrs at 3am night 12/13 and got a direct hit on the roof of H.Q. dugout, without penetrating the roof.
No casualties.
Lt Col H.St.C. Wilkins took command of 5th Bde,
from this date during the absence of Br, Gen, Cochran on leave to England.
2nd Battalion – Officers

To Hospital 1.
At 12 noon the Battalion paraded & marched to billets at
LE PREOL, N.E. of BEUVRY. Very wet day.

Battalion – GALLIPPOLI.

Battalion -
1/6th Battalion
– Remained in trenches. The rain still continued at intervals throughout the
day – Work was carried on at clearing up the trenches & some wire was put
out. Our snipers claimed to of hit 2 Germans. The enemy shelled our front line
at intervals during the day.
Casualties wounded other ranks three.
7th
Battalion – In billets nothing to report.
8th
Battalion – Battalion moved into temporary billets at DICKEBUSCH.
