13th November 1915 –
1st Battalion – BEUVRY.
Relieved by 2/R.W Fusiliers (19th Bde,) by
12noon. The Battn, went into billets at BEUVRY for the night.
2nd Battalion – The
Battalion (less 250(Working Party) marched at 9am to HARLEY STREET (CUINCHY)
& there relieved the 2nd R.W.F. We were relieved at LE PREOL by
1st R.W.F. the entire Battalion was on fatigue throughout the day.

2/4th
Battalion – GALLIPPOLI.
1/5th
Battalion -The Battn, went for first route march since May. Distance
about 9 miles. During last hour distances were not well kept. Many cases of
sore feet reported chiefly, due to keeping boots soft during hot weather in
LUCKNOW. Result of annual signalling test published. Satisfactory 9 first
class. 5 second. Information received that the Battalion was not take with it
the 12 Bearers allowed for war establishment this appears likely to create
difficulties as dhoolies form part of mobilisation equipment.
1/6th Battalion
– The Bn, was relieved by the 6th Bn. The Buffs. The relief which
commenced at 8am was not completed till 2pm – this was mainly due to the bad
state of the trenches – On relief the Battn, went back into reserve as
follows:- A & B Coys into OLD BRITISH FRONT LINE & 1st &
2nd Support Line. C & D Coy into LANCASHIRE TRENCH. The
Battalion had completed its move by 4.30pm – A working party of 50 men were
sent out at 5pm.
Casualties wounded other ranks three.
7th
Battalion – Orders received that Battalion would relieve 8th
East Surrey Regt on 16-17th Nov.
8th
Battalion – Supplied 4 working parties under 104th & 129th
Coy R.E. The trenches were in a very bad state; communicating trenches could
not be used. C.S.M. Percival. B. of A Coy was killed by a shell while returning
along trench with one of these parties.
