The Queen's (Royal West Surrey) Regiment 6th October 1915

6th October 1915 – 

1st BattalionAVELETTE.
Ordinary Routine. Lieuts H.C. Williams, A.R. Abercrombie, and 2 Lieut B.M. Grey joined the Battn.
2nd Battalion – Officers 23.    Other Ranks 738.
To Hospital 6.
From Hospital 5.
From Detention 1.
Reinforcements: Major A.H. Tringham.
2/ Lieut R.C.G. Foster.
2/ Lieut J.C. Young.
2/ Lieut J.T. Roberts.
1/6th Battalion – Remained in above trenches & supplied working parties to dig trenches in front line – Casualties Wounded other ranks five.
2/4th Battalion – During this period the Battalion was employed digging trenches on and around LALA BABA and garrisoning the trenches by night.
7th Battalion – In Billets, nothing to record.

8th Battalion – Remaining half of the Battalion left HOUTKERCQUE for RENINGHELST in which they were put under canvas.
