The Queen's (Royal West Surrey) Regiment 18th October 1915

18th October 1915 – 

1st Battalion – Quiet day. Lieut H.C. Williams accidently killed by L/c Linsney when returning to our trench during digging operation.
2nd Battalion – Brigade marched out from BETHUNE about 9.30am.
The Battalion went into billets at BERGUETTE some 1½ miles N.W. of BETHUNE.
Officers 25.    Other Ranks 735.
To Hospital 1.
1/6th Battalion – Remained in trenches. Order for the relief were received; found working parties as above –

2/4th Battalion – During this period the Battalion was employed digging trenches on and around LALA BABA and garrisoning the trenches by night.
7th Battalion – In Billets, nothing to record.

8th Battalion – Quiet day, were relieved at 9pm by 1st Btn Royal Fusiliers. Total casualties for 3 days 1Killed 9 Wounded (3 rejoined). The Battn returned to RENINGHELST at 1am.
