The Queen's (Royal West Surrey) Regiment 18th May 1916

18th May 1916–

1st Battalion – Baths all day & ordinary drills. Lt Col Crofts granted 10 days leave to England; Major Parnell in command.
2nd Battalion – Nothing to report from the trenches, and the two companies at GRANTOWN are doing the usual working parties day and night.
Officers 35.    Other Ranks 878.
2 from Hospital.
1 from Base.
2/4th Battalion
1/5th Battalion - The Army Commander accompanied by Bg Gen Money Chief of Staff arrived at NASARIYEH & received Brigadiers & C.O’s at 12 noon. At 5.30 pm he rode thro’ city & camp & inspected huts & lines at about 6.45 pm. The Battn was working on the Bund at the time.
1/6th Battalion – The Battalion took part in a Brigade Exercise.
7th Battalion – nothing to record.
8th Battalion – Training continued.
10th Battalion – Billets – Outterstien.
11th Battalion
