The Queen's (Royal West Surrey) Regiment 1st February1916

1st February 1916 –

1st BattalionANNEQUIN FOSSE.
Ordinary Routine.
2nd BattalionTRENCHES.
The Battalion relieved the 16th R.Warwicks in the trenches this evening in C2 Subsection, commencing at 6pm. The Coys were taken part of the way by train. Relief complete in 2 hours. Quiet night.
Officers 32.    Other Ranks 868.
2/4th Battalion BENI SALAMA, WARDAN.
Under canvas with 53rd Division (less 159th brigade) - Battalion engaged in Company training & musketry. In addition there have been special classes in Signalling, Machine Gunnery, Musketry & First Aid - also for junior officers & NCO's
1/5th Battalion BUTANYEH.
A & C Companies found the night outposts. The posts were reduced to 4 in number.
1/6th BattalionBUSNETTES.
Battalion remained in billets & continued training.
7th Battalion – Quiet day nothing to record.
8th Battalion – Quiet day, very little activity. Our snipers seem to of done good work.
