The Queen's (Royal West Surrey) Regiment 22nd January1916

22nd January 1916 – 

1st Battalion – Ordinary Routine.
2nd Battalion – All Coys engaged in digging Brigade trenches.
Officers 32.    Other Ranks 867.
To Hospital (England)1.
2/4th Battalion –
1/5th Battalion - Again a bitterly cold day though fine but very dull.
1/6th Battalion – Battalion remained in billets men were fitted out with clean cloths & Coys did 4 hours drill under Company arrangement.
7th Battalion – Artillery of Brigade group bombarded German front line trenches about X 26 d 7278.
8th Battalion – The battalion continued the work on the defence point and one Company was kept in camp for training purposes. Company grenadiers trained in throwing live bombs.
