The Queen's (Royal West Surrey) Regiment 11th December 1915

11th December 1915 – 

1st Battalion – Quiet day. Received orders for our relief tomorrow. Casualties 3 Wounded. One Coy of 13th Essex attached for 24 hours of Platoon Training.
2nd Battalion – Officers 32.    Other Ranks 762.
Company Training.
1/5th Battalion - 10am arrived QURNAH. Here transhipped everybody & everything on to Mahaillas, 41 were required. At QURNAH hot meal was served.
MURNAH.
1.30pm first Mahaillas left
4.30pm last Mahaillas left
5.30 pm anchored about 1 1/2 up EUPHRATES from bridge at QURNAH.
1/6th BattalionWINDY CORNER.
Remained in billets. Found working parties to clear up communication trenches from WINDY CORNER to FRONT LINE. Coy commanders went to front trenches with a view to taking them over.
7th Battalion – The Battalion was relieved by 8th East Surrey Regt by day & returned to billets at VILLE-SUR-ANCRE. A Company billeted in BECORDEL & found mining fatigues.
Casualties during tour of duty, O.R. Wounded 2. Health of Battalion very good.
