7th November 1915 –
1st Battalion – Battn, paraded at 10.15am and marched by Platoons to ANNEQUIN with one Coy at CAMBRIN.
2nd Battalion – Officers

To Hospital 1.
Sharp frost during past night. No rain. The enemy is very
peaceful.

Battalion – GALLIPPOLI.

– Owing to the trenches (Reserve) in which the Suffolks were having been so wet
& there being not sufficient accommodation for the Bn, in them, permission
to put the Bn, in the cellars in VERMELLES was applied for and granted. The Bn,
left SAILLY LA BOURSE at 3pm. Coy marching at half hour intervals. The
Battalion was completely accommodated in cellars by 6pm.
7th
Battalion – VILLE-SUR-ANCRE.
During this period in billets the Battalion was ordered to
find working parties on defences, 1 Company at BECOURT WOOD, 2 platoons on
intermediate line near BECORDEL-BECOURT. Lt Col Glasgow went on leave, command
devolved on Major F.B.B. Pickard.
8th
Battalion – Quiet days. – Our snipers gained the upper hand easily.
