The Queen's (Royal West Surrey) Regiment 29th November 1915

29th November 1915 – 

1st Battalion – Ordinary work. Casualty 1 Wounded. 2 Lt S.E. Lukin joined on 29th.
2nd Battalion – Officers 32.    Other Ranks 770.
To Hospital Nil.
From Hospital Nil.
Killed 1.
2/Lt V.C. Harvey joined.
Battn, marched to billets at BUSNETTES at 9am.
2/4th Battalion GALLIPPOLI.
1/5th Battalion - All kits & light baggage sent to station & piled opposite carriages,
8am Battalion paraded & marched to station Total strength was 25 officers & 665 other ranks including attached,
9.15am but not including Lieut. A.E. Clark Kennedy & 2 assts who left for BOMBAY as advance party by mail, & 12.Q.M. who was left to come by rail the following day.
10.10am The Battalion left LUCKNOW, twenty minutes late owing to lateness of mail,
1135am Arrival CAUNPORE. Left 13.30 ¾ hour before time.
EN ROUTE FOR BOMBAY. Arrived JHANSI 20.55pm owing to very bad engines.
Left JHANSI 21.55pm & Extra delay owing to inadequate supply of hot water ready, for teas.
1/6th Battalion – Church Parade. Football in the afternoon.
7th Battalion – In billets nothing to report.
8th Battalion – Training continued. Grenade Pit & trenches dug, Rifle Range & Machine Gun range chosen.
